Brooklyn, NY
A few weeks ago Eric and I and some cafe co-workers road-tripped up to Brooklyn for the day. We did a mini “coffee crawl” checking out some cafes and roasters in the area. SSooo many great little nooks and places to see! I can’t wait to go back. We drank SO much coffee haha. This trip I challenged my self by only taking a tilt shift lens.. one of which i’ve NEVER used...

Family time with the Kings..
Meet Marlin, Trinity, and JUDE! One of my favorite little families :) :) And don’t they all have such epic names?!! I think Jude Ramsey King beats all. This little munchkin is quite the ham, and although tired, managed to smile for a few ;) We shot these back before Christmas and in the business of the holiday I forgot to post a few on the blog. So here they are! The Kings. Total side...

The Sawkins || Part 2
Hooray! Time for part two! The festivities continued after the ceremony with a cocktail hour complete with delicious “jar-garitas” followed by the reception, games, and dancing into the night. My personal favorite was the sparklers at the end! Definitely something I want to incorporate in my own wedding ;) This day had PERFECT weather, which made for some amazing light which always...

a final weekend getaway..
This past weekend was the final weekend before my fiance Eric and good friend Samuel departed the big island. We rented an infamous orange jeep, piled it full of friends, blasted the tunes, rolled the windows down and headed out to one of my favorite places on the island. Waipio Valley… I love all the wild horses :) photo credit for mini photoshoot | sarah...

Below are some portraits of some lovely people I work along side here in Kona. They are amazing leaders, sold out for the Lord and committed to discipling and equipping students. They will be leading outreach teams this summer to India. Greece. London. Uganda. South Africa. Thailand. and Egypt. So excited for the amazing stories and testimonies that will come from that time :)  ...

This lady’s birthday was the other day so I asked if I could bless her with a shoot. I was then even more thrilled when she told she hasn’t had a photo shoot since her SENIOR PORTRAITS!! I think I take for granted living with a group of photographers. So happy to bless her with some new and beautiful images of herself. I love this girls joy, you can see it radiating all over in her...

You never completely understand a culture unless you immerse yourself into it in fully. You put yourself in their place for a time, you eat what they eat.. and you work the way they work. And for that time.. you are accepted as one of them.

Chiang Mai, Thailand
We stumbled upon a temple one day that had numerous groups preparing for a parade. They welcomed us foreigners into the flurry of activity and let us photograph them before and during the festivities. Many painted faces, flags, costumes, dancers, and even monks occupied the grounds in front of the temple. I felt like press, moving in and out of the marching participants. Such a city of brilliant...

With all the travel and photojournalism I’ve been doing with my school, I have been neglecting this blog and focusing more on my other one (marisagroff.blogspot.com). I thought it was about time to post something to my client blog :) With that being said I’d like to preset to you images of my friend Ben Rothermel. We work together at the Prince Street Cafe and last December he had...
